Kiwango cha Tathmini za Msingi za Nafsi (CSES) hupima tathmini za kimsingi ambazo watu hufanya kuhusu thamani yao wenyewe, uwezo, na uwezo wa kukidhi mahitaji ya maisha. Iliyoundwa na Jaji na wenzake kuanzia mwaka 1997, kiwango chenye vipengele 12 hupata kipengele pana cha utu kinachojumuisha kujithamini, ufanisi binafsi, udhibiti wa mambo, na utulivu wa kihisia. Tathmini za msingi za nafsi hutabiri kuridhika na kazi, kuridhika na maisha, kujihusisha, na utendaji kazi katika taaluma mbalimbali.
