eQTL-analyse — Expression Quantitative Trait Loci-analyse

eQTL-analyse identificerer genomiske loci (varianter, typisk SNPs), hvis genotyp statistisk associerer med variation i ekspressionsniveauet af et eller flere gener. Ved at profilere DNA-niveauvariation og RNA-niveauekspression samtidigt hos de samme individer, afkoder eQTL-studier den regulatoriske grammatik i genomet — og afslører, hvilke varianter der styrer, hvor meget et gen transskriberes, i hvilke væv og under hvilke betingelser.
