অনুসন্ধানী উপাদান বিশ্লেষণ একটি বৃহৎ সংখ্যক পর্যবেক্ষণযোগ্য চলককে অল্প সংখ্যক সুপ্ত সাধারণ উপাদানে হ্রাস করে। এটি স্কেল উন্নয়ন এবং সাইকোমেট্রিক্সে বহুলভাবে ব্যবহৃত হয় যা পূর্বনির্ধারিত কোনো কাঠামো নির্দিষ্ট না করেই সম্পর্কিত আইটেমগুলির একটি সেটের অন্তর্নিহিত মাত্রিক কাঠামো উন্মোচন করে।
