동물 연구 윤리 — 3R 원칙
3R (Replacement, Reduction, Refinement)은 Russell과 Burch (1959)에 의해 확립되었으며, 현재 연구 기관, 연구비 지원 기관 및 규제 기관에 의해 전 세계적으로 채택된 인도적인 동물 연구를 규율하는 윤리적 틀입니다. 3R은 연구자에게 다음을 요구합니다: 가능한 경우 비동물 방법으로 동물 연구를 대체하고, 엄격한 설계를 통해 사용되는 동물의 수를 줄이며, 동물의 고통을 최소화하기 위해 실험 절차를 개선합니다. 3R의 이행은 현재 대부분의 관할권에서 기관 동물 관리 및 사용 위원회(Institutional Animal Care and Use Committees, IACUC), EU 지침 2010/63/EU 및 NIH 정책을 통해 의무화되어 있습니다.
