Marginal Structural Model (MSM)

En marginal strukturel model (MSM) er et kausalt modelleringsframework designet til at estimere effekten af en tidsvarierende behandling i nærvær af tidsvarierende konfoundere, der selv påvirkes af tidligere behandling. Ved at omvægte observationer med inverse sandsynligheds-for-behandling-vægte (IPTW) skaber MSM'er en pseudo-population, hvor konfounding elimineres, hvilket muliggør upartisk estimering af kausale behandlingskontraster, selv når standard regressionsjusteringer ville fejle.
