Documentanalyse
Documentanalyse is een systematische kwalitatieve onderzoeksmethode voor het onderzoeken van geschreven, visuele of audiovisuele bronnen – zoals beleidsdocumenten, historische archieven, organisatorische verslagen, mediaverslagen, e-mails, socialemediapostingen, foto's of video's – om betekenis te extraheren, patronen te identificeren en sociale fenomenen te begrijpen. De methode, ontwikkeld door Weber en Mannheim in de vroeg-20e-eeuwse sociologie, overbrugt historisch onderzoek, inhoudsanalyse en tekstinterpretatie. Documentanalyse wordt in verschillende disciplines gebruikt om organisatorische verandering, beleidsevolutie, mediarepresentatie, historische gebeurtenissen en culturele betekenis te begrijpen. Documenten leveren bewijs van wat organisaties, instellingen of samenlevingen waarderen, beslissen en communiceren, en onthullen vaak tegenstrijdigheden tussen beleid en praktijk.
