乳量測定記録
乳量測定記録とは、個々の乳用動物の泌乳サイクルにわたる乳生産量を測定し、文書化するための体系的な方法です。W. L. Gainesを含む酪農科学者によって20世紀初頭に体系化されたこの実践は、現代の酪農群管理および遺伝的改良プログラムの根幹をなしています。これにより、生産成績の客観的な評価と、育種のための高生産動物の特定が可能になります。
