牛のボディコンディションスコア
ボディコンディションスコアリング（BCS）は、牛の体脂肪蓄積量と栄養状態を視覚的に体系的に評価する手法です。1980年代から1990年代にかけて酪農栄養学者（Edmonson and Ferguson）によって体系化されたBCSは、骨のランドマークの触診と体型の観察を統合し、標準化されたスケールでエネルギー貯蔵量を定量化します。この方法は、乳牛および肉牛の栄養管理、健康モニタリング、繁殖成績にとって不可欠です。
