การวิเคราะห์เงื่อนไขที่จำเป็น (Necessary Condition Analysis - NCA) เป็นระเบียบวิธีเชิงเซต (set-theoretic method) ที่พัฒนาโดย Dul (2016) ซึ่งระบุเงื่อนไขที่จำเป็น (แต่ไม่จำเป็นต้องเพียงพอ) สำหรับผลลัพธ์ที่จะเกิดขึ้น แตกต่างจากวิธีถดถอย (regression) ที่ประมาณค่าผลกระทบเฉลี่ย NCA จะระบุเกณฑ์สัมบูรณ์ (absolute thresholds): เงื่อนไขที่ต้องมีอยู่ในระดับหนึ่งเพื่อให้ผลลัพธ์เป็นไปได้ โดยไม่คำนึงถึงปัจจัยอื่น ๆ
