Process Tracing
Process Tracing เป็นระเบียบวิธีวิจัยเชิงคุณภาพที่พัฒนาโดย George และ Bennett (2005) สำหรับศึกษาตัวกลไกเชิงสาเหตุและสายโซ่เชิงสาเหตุภายในกรณีศึกษาแต่ละกรณี วิธีการนี้เกี่ยวข้องกับการตรวจสอบลำดับเหตุการณ์และกระบวนการตัดสินใจภายในกรณีศึกษา เพื่ออนุมานว่ากลไกเชิงสาเหตุที่ตั้งสมมติฐานไว้ได้ดำเนินการจริงหรือไม่ Process tracing มุ่งเสริมสร้างการอนุมานเชิงสาเหตุในการศึกษาเชิงกรณี โดยการมองให้ไกลกว่าความสัมพันธ์ (correlation) เพื่อทำความเข้าใจว่าสาเหตุสร้างผลลัพธ์ได้อย่างไร
