การสร้างสมการโครงสร้างเชิงสำรวจ
การสร้างสมการโครงสร้างเชิงสำรวจ (Exploratory Structural Equation Modeling - ESEM) เป็นแนวทางแบบผสมผสานที่รวมการวิเคราะห์ปัจจัยเชิงสำรวจ (Exploratory Factor Analysis - EFA) เข้ากับการวิเคราะห์ปัจจัยเชิงยืนยัน (Confirmatory Factor Analysis - CFA) และการสร้างแบบจำลองเส้นทาง (Path Modeling) ซึ่งพัฒนาโดย Asparouhov และ Muthén (2009) ESEM ผ่อนปรนข้อสมมติฐานการลงน้ำหนักเป็นศูนย์ที่เข้มงวดของ CFA แบบดั้งเดิม โดยอนุญาตให้ตัวบ่งชี้ทั้งหมดลงน้ำหนักกับทุกปัจจัย ซึ่งสามารถเผยให้เห็นความซับซ้อนระหว่างปัจจัยและปรับปรุงความเหมาะสมของแบบจำลอง (model fit) ในขณะที่ยังคงความสามารถในการทดสอบทฤษฎีโครงสร้างที่สำคัญ
