Bayesiansk entropibalansering utvider den klassiske entropibalanseringsmetoden – som omveier kontrollenheter slik at deres kovariatmomenter nøyaktig samsvarer med den behandlede gruppen – ved å innlemme denne omveiingen i et Bayesiansk rammeverk. Dette gjør det mulig for forskere å inkludere tidligere antakelser om behandlingstilbøyeligheter, forplante parameterusikkerhet inn i det endelige kausale estimatet, og oppnå credible intervals snarere enn bare klassiske konfidensintervaller.
