Modelovanje zasnovano na agentima (ABM) je računarska metoda simulacije, formalizovana radom Tomasa Šelinga i Roberta Akselroda 1970-ih–1990-ih, koja simulira ponašanje složenih sistema specificiranjem i pokretanjem autonomnih agenata — pojedinaca, firmi, ćelija ili bilo koje ograničene entitete — čije lokalne interakcije jedni s drugima i sa svojim okruženjem kolektivno proizvode globalne obrasce na nivou sistema koji se ne bi mogli predvideti samo iz pravila pojedinačnog agenta.
