Conversatieanalyse — Het bestuderen van "Talk-in-Interaction"
Conversatieanalyse (CA) is een kwalitatieve onderzoeksmethode die de fijnmazige sequentiële structuur van natuurlijk voorkomende gesprekken en sociale interactie onderzoekt. Ontwikkeld door sociologen Harvey Sacks, Emanuel Schegloff en Gail Jefferson in de jaren zestig en zeventig, onderzoekt CA hoe deelnemers aan een gesprek sociale handelingen — zoals uitnodigingen, weigeringen of diagnoses — tot stand brengen door de precieze, moment-tot-moment organisatie van hun spraak, inclusief beurtwisseling, sequentiestructuur, reparatie en ontvangergerichtheid.
