Netwerkgebaseerde GWAS — Netwerkgebaseerde Genoombrede Associatiestudie
Netwerkgebaseerde GWAS integreert conventionele genoombrede associatiestudiresultaten met biologische netwerkgegevens — zoals eiwit-eiwitinteractie (PPI) netwerken of gen co-expressie grafieken — om ziektegerelateerde genmodules of subnetwerken te identificeren. In plaats van alleen de top individuele SNPs te rapporteren, propageert deze aanpak associatiesignalen door moleculaire interactienetwerken, waardoor genclusters naar voren komen waarvan het collectieve signaal hen impliceert in complexe eigenschapsbiologie, zelfs wanneer geen enkele variant alleen genoombrede significantie bereikt.
