Saiz Kesan

Saiz kesan mengukur magnitud sesuatu penemuan kajian secara bebas daripada saiz sampel. Manakala nilai-p memberitahu anda sama ada sesuatu keputusan adalah signifikan secara statistik, saiz kesan memberitahu anda betapa besarnya keputusan itu. Jacob Cohen membakukan pengukuran saiz kesan dalam sains tingkah laku (1988), menetapkan penanda aras standard (kecil = 0.2, sederhana = 0.5, besar = 0.8 untuk Cohen's d). Saiz kesan adalah penting untuk meta-analisis, analisis kuasa, dan mengkomunikasikan kepentingan praktikal penemuan kajian.
