Mediationsanalyse

Mediationsanalyse er en statistisk procedure, der tester, om effekten af en uafhængig variabel X på et udfald Y helt eller delvist sker via en tredje variabel M, kaldet mediatoren. Formaliseret af Baron og Kenny i 1986, dekomponerer den den totale effekt af X på Y i en direkte vej (c′) og en indirekte vej (a × b), og kvantificerer, hvor meget af relationen der bæres af den medierende mekanisme.
