Vægtet Social Netværksanalyse (Weighted SNA) udvider klassisk SNA ved at tildele numeriske værdier — vægte — til båndene mellem aktører, hvilket indkapsler båndstyrke, interaktionsfrekvens eller ressourceflow. I stedet for at behandle alle forbindelser som ligeværdige, afslører den, hvem der indtager privilegerede positioner i kraft af intensiteten, ikke blot eksistensen, af deres relationer.
