XANES

X-ray Absorption Near Edge Structure (XANES) je tehnika sinhrotronske rendgenske spektroskopije koja meri elektronsku i geometrijsku strukturu oko specifičnog atoma analizirajući spektar apsorpcije rendgenskih zraka unutar oko 50 eV od ivice apsorpcije. Razvijen od strane Lee-a i Pendry-a 1975. godine, XANES je komplementaran EXAFS-u i otkriva valentno stanje, lokalnu simetriju i strukturu nepopunjenih orbitala kroz karakteristike i rezonancije blizu praga.
