Itemanalyse van geautomatiseerde adaptieve toetsen evalueert en kalibreert items die bedoeld zijn voor gebruik in adaptieve testomgevingen. In tegenstelling tot analyse van vaste formulieren, houdt het rekening met de niet-willekeurige itemblootstelling die inherent is aan adaptieve afname, en gebruikt het itemresponstheorie om itemparameters, informatiefuncties en blootstellingspercentages over het vaardigheidscontinuüm te schatten.
