Balancering van ruimtelijke entropie breidt standaard entropiebalancering uit naar observationele settings waar eenheden ingebed zijn in geografische ruimte, waarbij ruimtelijke structuur wordt opgenomen in het herwegingsproces, zodat balans wordt bereikt met respect voor ruimtelijke nabijheid, clustering of spillover-afhankelijkheden tussen eenheden.
