참여적 탐색적 순차 혼합 방법론은 두 단계로 구성된 설계로, 지역사회 구성원과 함께 그리고 그들에 의해 수행되는 초기 질적 단계를 통해 정량적 도구 또는 개입을 구축하거나 개선하는 데 사용될 결과가 도출되며, 이 도구 또는 개입은 두 번째 단계에서 검증됩니다. 참여적 관점은 영향을 받는 지역사회가 두 단계에 걸쳐 연구 의제, 데이터 및 해석을 공동으로 소유하도록 보장합니다.
