기호학적 분석은 기호(단어, 이미지, 소리, 제스처, 사물)가 문화적 맥락 안에서 어떻게 의미를 생성하고 전달하는지를 해석하는 질적 방법론입니다. 페르디낭 드 소쉬르의 구조 언어학과 찰스 샌더스 퍼스의 삼항 기호 이론에 기반하고, 롤랑 바르트에 의해 연구 도구로 대중화된 기호학은 표면적인 지시적 의미를 넘어 텍스트와 시각 문화에 내재된 함축적이고 이데올로기적인 의미를 드러냅니다.
