약식 정신 검사(Abbreviated Mental Test, AMT)는 1972년 Hodkinson이 개발한 10개 문항의 간이 인지 선별 도구로, 원래 Age and Ageing에 게재되었습니다. 이 도구는 특히 입원한 노인 환자의 인지 기능을 신속하게 평가하고 급성기 병원 환경에서 섬망과 치매를 탐지하기 위해 고안되었습니다. AMT는 간편성, 짧은 검사 시간(2~3분), 그리고 신속한 인지 선별이 필수적인 빠르게 진행되는 임상 환경에서의 유용성 때문에 가치가 높습니다.
