Slabo nadgledana segmentacija instanci obučava duboke mreže za ocrtavanje pojedinačnih instanci objekata na razini piksela koristeći samo jeftine, nepotpune anotacije — poput pravokutnika, oznaka na razini slike ili klikova točkom — umjesto skupih potpunih maski po pikselima. Dramatično smanjuje napor pri anotiranju, a ipak proizvodi maske na razini instanci za svaki objekt u slici.
