Simulated Annealing — Probabilistisk Optimering

Simulated annealing er en probabilistisk lokal-søgnings-metaheuristik introduceret af Kirkpatrick, Gelatt og Vecchi i 1983. Den modellerer den fysiske udglødningsproces i metallurgi — hvor et materiale opvarmes og derefter langsomt afkøles for at opnå en krystallinsk tilstand med lav energi — og bruger denne analogi til at undslippe lokale optima i kombinatoriske og kontinuerlige optimeringsproblemer.
