Gap-statistik

Gap-statistikken, udviklet af Tibshirani, Walther og Hastie i 2001, er en principiel statistisk metode til at bestemme det optimale antal klynger i et datasæt. Den sammenligner den observerede sum af kvadrater inden for klynger med den forventede værdi under en nulhypotese om ingen klyngestruktur, hvilket giver en teoretisk funderet tilgang til valg af klyngeantal.
