การวิเคราะห์ความซับซ้อนของข้อความวัดระดับความยากทางภาษาของข้อความในมิติต่างๆ เช่น ความซับซ้อนทางวากยสัมพันธ์ (ความยาวประโยค, อนุประโยคซ้อน) ความหนาแน่นของคำศัพท์ และโซ่อ้างอิง อิงจากการวิจัยความง่ายในการอ่านที่รวบรวมโดย Vajjala และ Meurers (2014) และ Crossley และคณะ (2011) การวิเคราะห์นี้แปลงร้อยแก้วให้เป็นคะแนนเชิงปริมาณที่ประมาณความยากของเอกสารในการอ่าน
