แบบจำลองดาร์บินเชิงพื้นที่เฉพาะที่ (Local SDM) เป็นการขยายแบบจำลองดาร์บินเชิงพื้นที่แบบทั่วโลก (global Spatial Durbin Model) โดยอนุญาตให้สัมประสิทธิ์การถดถอยแปรผันไปตามพื้นที่ทางภูมิศาสตร์ เป็นการรวมความสามารถของ SDM ในการจับทั้งค่าตามที่ถูกเลื่อนเชิงพื้นที่ (spatial lag of the dependent variable) และตัวแปรร่วมที่ถูกเลื่อนเชิงพื้นที่ (spatial lags of covariates) เข้ากับกรอบการประมาณค่าแบบถ่วงน้ำหนักตามภูมิศาสตร์ (geographically weighted estimation framework) เพื่อสร้างผลกระทบแบบทับซ้อน (spillover effects) ทั้งโดยตรงและโดยอ้อมที่เฉพาะเจาะจงกับแต่ละตำแหน่ง
