Svakt veiledet instanssegmentering trener dype nettverk for å avgrense individuelle objektsinstanser på pikselnivå ved kun å bruke billige, ufullstendige annotasjoner – som avgrensningsbokser, bildenivåetiketter eller punktklikk – i stedet for kostbare fullstendige pikselvise masker. Det reduserer annotasjonsinnsatsen dramatisk, samtidig som det produserer instansnivåmasker for hvert objekt i et bilde.
