Interpretive Metaphor Analysis — Kwalitatief Metafooronderzoek
Interpretive metaphor analysis is een kwalitatieve methode die systematisch de conceptuele metaforen identificeert en interpreteert die ingebed zijn in de taal van deelnemers om te begrijpen hoe zij betekenis geven aan hun ervaringen. Geworteld in Lakoff en Johnsons conceptuele metafoortheorie en aangepast voor empirisch sociaal onderzoek door Rudolf Schmitt, past het een hermeneutische lens toe om metaforen niet als stilistische ornamenten te behandelen, maar als vensters naar onderliggende cognitieve en culturele kaders.
