Bayesiaanse beoordeling van discriminante validiteit evalueert of twee theoretisch onderscheiden latente constructen empirisch scheidbaar zijn, gebruikmakend van posterieure verdelingen en geloofwaardige intervallen in plaats van enkelvoudige nulhypothesetests. Het wordt toegepast binnen Bayesiaanse confirmatieve factoranalyse of via de Bayesiaanse heterotrait-monotrait ratio (HTMTb) om te bepalen of constructen die verschillende trekken meten voldoende gedifferentieerd zijn.
