집중 민족지 — 문제 중심, 단기 현장 연구
집중 민족지(Focused ethnography)는 연구자가 사전 해당 분야 지식을 가지고 특정 사회적 환경에 제한된 기간 — 일반적으로 수개월 또는 수년이 아닌 수일에서 수주 — 동안 들어가 명확하게 정의된 하나의 문제나 관행을 연구하는, 고전적 민족지의 압축되고 문제 중심적인 변형입니다. 응용 연구의 시간 및 자원 제약에 대한 대응으로 개발된 이 방법은 의료, 조직 연구, 전문 교육 분야에서 널리 사용되며, 연구자의 해당 환경에 대한 기존 친숙도가 민족지적 깊이를 희생하지 않으면서 신속하고 표적화된 데이터 수집을 가능하게 합니다.
