과정 추적(Process Tracing)
Process Tracing은 George와 Bennett (2005)가 개별 사례 내의 인과 메커니즘과 인과 사슬을 연구하기 위해 개발한 질적 연구 방법론이다. 이는 가설화된 인과 메커니즘이 실제로 작동했는지 추론하기 위해 사례 내 사건 및 의사 결정 과정의 순서를 검토하는 것을 포함한다. Process Tracing은 상관관계를 넘어 원인이 어떻게 결과를 생성하는지 이해함으로써 사례 연구에서의 인과 추론을 강화하는 것을 목표로 한다.
