ベイジアン尺度開発は、ベイジアン統計推論を心理測定尺度の構築と評価に応用するものである。項目パラメータと個人パラメータの単一点推定値に依存するのではなく、不確実性を定量化し、事前知識を組み込み、少数または複雑なサンプルにおける項目保持、信頼性、妥当性に関する原則的な決定を支持する完全な事後分布を生成する。
