Originating from the foundational Survey of Study Habits and Attitudes (Brown & Holtzman, 1964) and refined in contemporary versions, the SSAQ identifies whether students employ evidence-based study techniques (spaced practice, self-testing, active recall) or ineffective strategies (cramming, passive rereading).
