Metode kontrol sintetis data panel mengestimasi efek kausal dari suatu intervensi pada satu unit yang diobati dengan mengkonstruksi kombinasi berbobot dari unit-unit yang tidak diobati — kontrol sintetis — yang paling baik mereproduksi lintasan hasil unit yang diobati sebelum intervensi.
