Metode Kontrol Sintetis Dinamis memperluas kerangka kerja kontrol sintetis klasik untuk mengevaluasi perlakuan yang terungkap selama beberapa periode atau berubah intensitasnya seiring waktu. Metode ini membangun kombinasi tertimbang dari unit yang tidak diobati yang cocok dengan unit yang diobati dalam hasil pra-perlakuan, kemudian melacak seluruh jalur waktu efek perlakuan periode demi periode setelah intervensi — menangkap tidak hanya efek rata-rata tetapi bagaimana efek tersebut berkembang secara dinamis.
