Samonadzorirana klasifikacija slika trenira duboki vizualni enkoder na velikim nenadzoriranim skupovima slika rješavanjem pomoćnih zadataka — kao što je predviđanje koje su dvije augmentirane prikaza iste slike slične — a zatim fino podešava samo laganu klasifikacijsku glavu na označenim primjerima.
