Flexible and Universal Compromise Analysis
FUCA (Flexible and Universal Compromise Analysis) is a ranking multi-criteria decision-making (MCDM) method introduced by Raveh, A. in 2000. It turns a decision matrix of alternatives scored on multiple criteria into a structured, reproducible result.

When to use it
F_i ∈ [1, m] approximately. Lower F means better (lower average rank across criteria). FUCA is essentially a weighted Borda count using per-criterion ordinal ranks rather than raw values — it is robust to scale differences and outliers because only the rank order matters, not the magnitude.
Strengths & limitations
- Follows a transparent, reproducible computational procedure that can be audited step by step.
- Handles multiple criteria of differing scales and units within a single decision matrix.
- Assumes full compensation — a strong score on one criterion can offset a weak score on another.
