F-statistikker (FST)

F-statistikker er en familie af mål udviklet af Sewall Wright til at kvantificere populationsgenetisk struktur og graden af genetisk differentiering mellem populationer. FST, den mest anvendte F-statistik, måler andelen af den samlede genetiske variation, der kan tilskrives forskelle mellem populationer versus inden for populationer. FST spænder fra nul (ingen differentiering) til én (komplet differentiering). Disse statistikker er blevet fundamentale værktøjer til at forstå populationsstruktur, detektere populationsblanding og analysere de evolutionære kræfter, der former genetisk variation.
