La Recerca Tabú Basada en Agents (ABTS) incrusta la metaheurística de recerca tabú dins d'un marc multiagent on agents autònoms executen fils de recerca tabú independents o cooperatius, compartint solucions prometedores per escapar d'òptims locals i explorar col·lectivament espais de cerca combinatoris o continus grans de manera més eficaç que una implementació d'un sol fil.
