La segmentació d'instàncies feblement supervisada entrena xarxes profundes per delinear instàncies d'objectes individuals a nivell de píxel utilitzant només anotacions barates i incompletes — com ara caixes delimitadores, etiquetes a nivell d'imatge o clics de punts — en lloc de màscares completes píxel a píxel. Redueix dràsticament l'esforç d'anotació tot produint màscares a nivell d'instància per a cada objecte en una imatge.
