বেয়েশীয় ল্যাটেন্ট ক্লাস অ্যানালাইসিস (BLCA) মডেলের সমস্ত প্যারামিটারের উপর পূর্ববর্তী ডিস্ট্রিবিউশন (prior distributions) স্থাপন করে এবং অবিন্যস্ত ক্যাটাগরিক্যাল গ্রুপে ব্যক্তিদের শ্রেণিবদ্ধ করতে, ক্লাস সদস্যপদ সম্পর্কিত অনিশ্চয়তা পরিমাপ করতে এবং একটি নীতিগত, সম্ভাব্যতাভিত্তিক উপায়ে ক্লাসের সংখ্যা নির্বাচন করতে পোস্টেরিয়র ইনফারেন্স (posterior inference) — সাধারণত MCMC-এর মাধ্যমে — ব্যবহার করে ক্লাসিক্যাল LCA-কে প্রসারিত করে।
