আধা-তত্ত্বাবধায়ক অনলাইন শিখন, অনলাইন শিখনের ক্রমবর্ধমান হালনাগাদ শৈলীকে অচিহ্নিত উদাহরণগুলির সুবিধা গ্রহণের ক্ষমতার সাথে একত্রিত করে, মডেলগুলিকে এমন ডেটা স্ট্রিম থেকে ক্রমাগত উন্নতি করতে সক্ষম করে যেখানে আগত দৃষ্টান্তগুলির একটি ক্ষুদ্র ভগ্নাংশ মাত্র প্রকৃত-লেবেল বহন করে। এটি বিশেষভাবে মূল্যবান যখন লেবেল করা ব্যয়বহুল বা বিলম্বিত হয় কিন্তু ডেটা রিয়েল-টাইমে আসে।
