布尔检索运算符是用于在文献数据库、图书馆目录和搜索引擎中组合和筛选检索词的逻辑函数——AND、OR、NOT和括号。布尔逻辑以数学家乔治·布尔（George Boole，1815-1864）的名字命名，自20世纪60年代以来一直应用于信息检索。这些运算符允许研究人员构建复杂、精确的检索，仅检索符合特定条件组合的文章，从而显著提高检索效率并减少不相关结果。
