顺序案例聚焦混合方法设计结合了案例研究方法论的深度与顺序混合方法的阶段性数据收集逻辑。定量和定性数据在不同的、有序的阶段收集——无论是先定量后定性（QUAN then QUAL）还是先定性后定量（QUAL then QUAN）——并且两条线索都锚定在一个或多个有界案例内。该设计适用于需要理解现象如何在特定现实世界背景下展开的研究问题。
