嵌入式解释性顺序混合方法设计结合了两种结构逻辑:解释性顺序框架(以定量阶段为主,随后进行定性跟进)和嵌入式设计原则(一种方法嵌套在另一种方法中以发挥支持作用)。首先收集和分析定量数据以识别模式或结果;然后收集定性数据——嵌入在定量阶段内或与之并行——以解释、阐释或情境化这些发现。其结果是研究中的数值结果驱动探究,定性声音提供解释深度。
