IYCF Practices
The IYCF assessment is a set of core indicators developed by WHO and UNICEF to measure the prevalence of key feeding practices in children aged 0–23 months. The indicators track six essential markers: exclusive breastfeeding in infants under 6 months, continued breastfeeding in the second year, timely introduction of complementary foods at 6–8 months, and adequate dietary diversity and meal frequency by 6–23 months. These indicators are foundational for monitoring nutrition outcomes and evaluating maternal and child health programs worldwide.
