The Dutch Eating Behavior Questionnaire is a 33-item self-report instrument designed to assess three distinct eating behavior patterns: restrained eating (cognitive control of food intake), emotional eating (eating in response to negative emotions), and external eating (responsiveness to food cues). Developed by van Strien and colleagues in 1986, it is widely used in research on eating disorders, weight management, and psychological determinants of dietary behavior.
